If you’re suffering from sickness or pain today, I know you want to be well! And more importantly, God wants you to be well! But sadly, for so many, this seems like an impossible, far-off dream. You must know that healing and health are more than a dream. They are an attainable reality for all who will believe! However, before you can believe God, we will have to expose some lies that may be hindering your faith. Truth comes from God, and lies come from Satan. Jesus told us that the devil is the father of lies. He said in John 8:44, “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” Thoughts and words that keep us from receiving our healing are lies from the devil! Satan doesn’t want any person to receive of the goodness of God, so he continually tries to shield us from truth. We see from the Bible that Satan and God are polar opposites! God cannot lie! Num 23:19 says, “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” By looking at the truth today, I want to help you dispel the lies that Satan has perpetrated to keep you from receiving healing. 1. My healing may not be God’s will. Some people pray for healing by saying, “If it be thy will”. This prayer is unnecessary, because God has plainly told us in His Word that it’s His will to heal us. A sinner would never pray, “Lord, save me if it be Thy will.” That’s because we all know the Word of God teaches that God is not willing that any should perish. When you know the will of God in a matter, it is settled. Faith comes from knowing the will of God. In the same manner, the Bible tells us that Jesus already paid the price for our healing. It is settled. Matt 8:16-17 says, When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses." If God didn’t want us healed, Jesus would not have taken our sicknesses when He bore our sins. It is definitively the will of God that you be healed now! 2. It’s too late for me. I’ve had this disease for far too long. The only reason you’ve had that disease for a long time is because you have lacked revelation of the truth, or you have failed to act on the truth you know. Once faith comes, you can receive what already belongs to you – no matter how long you’ve had symptoms in your body. We have many examples in the Bible of people who were healed after having had disease for many years. Luke 13:11-13 says, And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, "Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity." And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. Another time, Jesus healed a man at the pool of Bethesda. Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, "Do you want to be made well?" The sick man answered Him, "Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me." Jesus said to him, "Rise, take up your bed and walk." And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. John 5:5-9 Don’t let the lie that it’s too late keep you from your healing today! 3. I’ve made too many mistakes. The Bible teaches us that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Every person that has ever lived, except Jesus, has sinned. That means we qualify for a Savior! I have good news for you – all you have to do is confess your sins, and God will forgive you and cleanse you. 1 John 1:9 tells us, If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. One of the greatest lies the enemy tells people is that they’ve messed up too much and God won’t hear them anymore. It’s a strategy – a deception – to keep you from the goodness of God. God is so merciful and loving and kind. He will forgive anybody of anything if they will truly repent and turn to Him with all their heart. If this describes you, you will find that once you repent and draw near to God, healing will freely flow and make you whole. Forgiveness and healing go hand in hand. Jesus saw a paralytic man lowered in front of him while He was teaching. He said to the man, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.” The following is the Biblical account: And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, "Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?" But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, "Why do you reason about these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Arise, take up your bed and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins" — He said to the paralytic, "I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house." Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, "We never saw anything like this!" Mark 2:6-12 Most people have never seen anything like this, and it’s because they believe the lies of Satan. I want to encourage you today to start trusting God’s Word as absolute truth. Don’t go by how you feel or what you’ve done wrong. Believe the truth that God forgives and heals, and He will forgive and heal you today! For those who are seeking healing, I want to encourage you with truth today! God wants you well, and He has made a foolproof way for you to receive your healing! Some have argued over the centuries that healing has been done away with and is no longer available. However, have you ever heard of faith being done away with? No, of course not! Faith has not been done away with. God uses faith, Jesus uses faith, and you can use faith too! Hebrews 11:3 says, By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. By reading this verse, we understand what faith is for. Faith is for taking things that are not yet visible and bringing them into this seen or visible realm. This verse tells us that God created the world we now see by using His own Word. God creates by speaking His Word, the word of faith. He said, “Let there be,” and there was! God had faith that His own words would come to pass. We call this “the God kind of faith.” We know from the scriptures that Jesus had faith in His own words, too! Mark 11:12-15, 20-22 says, Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. In response Jesus said to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.” And His disciples heard it. Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.” So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.” The literal translation of “Have faith in God” is “Have the God-kind of faith.” Jesus used the fig tree to demonstrate that He had that kind of faith, and then He told the disciples, which includes believers today, “You have that kind of faith.” The following verse shows us how it works: “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Mark 11:23 We demonstrate that we are using the God kind of faith when we believe in our heart and believe that what we say will come to pass. In other words, we must believe that our own faith in God will work. This is how the woman with the issue of blood was healed. Mark 5:25-34 says, Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. (This gives us the description of her condition—hopeless!) When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. (This tells us that she first heard about Jesus before she could respond. Faith comes by hearing – Romans 10:17) For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” (In the Greek, the literal translation is “she kept saying.” She believed she would be healed if she touched Jesus, but she had to say what she believed in order to receive.) Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?” But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’” And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.” Notice that Jesus did not say, “My power has made you well.” Certainly, it required the power of God. But the power was activated by the woman’s faith. Now, if this woman could receive her healing by her own faith, then you can receive your healing by your own faith! The blind men are another example where their faith made them whole. Matthew 9:27-30 says, When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” And their eyes were opened. Again, Jesus did not say, “My power has made you well.” He told them that it was according to their faith that their eyes were opened. If these blind men could receive healing by their own faith, then you can receive healing by your own faith. I want to encourage you to believe God’s Word that says you are healed. Begin speaking TO your mountain of sickness instead of ABOUT it. Confess God’s Word continually and use your faith in God’s Word to drive out every symptom of sickness and disease, in Jesus’ name. God doesn’t want any person to live with sickness and disease. And one of the best ways I know of to receive healing and maintain health is by taking God’s medicine every day. Some may be wondering, “Does God actually have medicine?” The answer is absolutely YES! Let’s look at a passage from Proverbs 4:20-23: My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance defines the word “health” in this passage as medicine. God is saying that His word is literally a medicine, a cure, or a remedy for all our flesh. Medical science can certainly help in a measure when it comes to alleviating symptoms of disease. However, I can tell you from experience as a registered nurse that much of what the medical world has to offer falls short. Many drugs that promise relief list the numerous side effects if you take them. But God’s method is foolproof! There are never any negative side effects, and it is free of charge! Notice that Proverbs 4:22 says that health and life are for those who find God’s words. This passage tells us exactly how to find them: - Pay attention to them. - Listen to them. - Keep them before our eyes. - Keep them in the midst of our hearts. These are actually instructions for taking God’s medicine. Many make the mistake of substituting belief in healing for the actual taking of God’s medicine, which is His Word. We must follow God’s instructions for taking the medicine if we want it to produce the desired results. There are two key things to know about God’s medicine: 1. God’s Word is a powerful, living substance. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14 We see that the Word which became flesh is Jesus. If Jesus is the Word of God, how can it be dead or powerless? It cannot. In the same way that the Word became flesh in Jesus, the Word becomes flesh in us when we believe and act upon it. It manifests as health and strength to the degree that we believe. Hebrews 4:12 says, For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword… When we have a need, the Lord will answer that need with His Word. People cry out to God, and He often answers by sending someone with the answer in their mouth. That answer will always contain the Word of God. If you are hungry and diligently searching for answers, you will receive them. Psalm 107:19-20 says, Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. We see here that God’s response to their cry was to send His Word. His Word healed them and delivered them from their destructions! The second thing we must know about God’s medicine is this: 2. We apply the Word of God with our Words. James 3:2 says, For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. We can control the outcome of our lives by what we say, and that includes the health and condition of our bodies. When we are meditating upon the Word of God, we should be speaking it. Meditate actually means to mutter. As we speak the Word of God, it penetrates deep within our spirit. As it gets into our spirit and STAYS there, it will permeate every cell of our body with life and health. We also use our words to speak to negative situations and change them. Mark 11:22-23 says, So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Jesus taught here that what you say is what you get! The whole world lies under the sway of Satan. It’s the easiest thing in the world to speak and act like the world when it comes to symptoms of sickness or pain. However, if we want what the Word promises, we must say what the Word says. Speak to the mountain of sickness and command it to be removed from your body, in Jesus’ Name. You must keep healing scriptures and truths in your mouth and heart. As God’s medicine gets into your heart and stays there, it will surely bring health to all your flesh. As believers in Christ, we are not victims. We are masters over Satan and sickness. But sadly, too few Christians worldwide really know they are masters of Satan and circumstances. Instead of them mastering sickness, sickness and circumstances are mastering and ruling over them.   You need to know that when Satan looks at a child of God, he sees Jesus. I’m also convinced that he knows—through our words and actions—how we see ourselves. When he sees what we believe about ourselves, he either has an open door to attack us or a “NO ENTRANCE” sign!   To walk in victory, we first must know who we are! If you don’t know your identity, the enemy will define it for you!   Ephesians 2:6 says, …and [God] raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.   This is not a metaphor. This is our spiritual position. Ephesians 1:21 says we are seated with Christ, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. That includes Satan and sickness!   Colossians 1:13 adds, [The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love. (AMPC)   We are already transferred. We are not trying to get free. We are already free! Now it’s time for us to walk in this freedom! In Luke 10:19, Jesus said , “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all  the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” This includes sickness. Satan no longer has power over a believer. The only way he can access us is if we surrender our authority through fear, sin, or ignorance. Think about police officers. They don’t look powerful because of their size but because of their authority . Their badge gives them the right to act with authority on behalf of the government. We as believers carry a spiritual badge of authority—the name of Jesus. Philippians 2:10 tells us, At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth. That includes demons, sickness, and oppression. When you command these to go in the name of Jesus, they must obey. Jesus Himself said in Mark 16:17-18,   “These signs shall follow those who believe…they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.” You have authority to lay hands on yourself, your spouse, and your children. You have authority to lay hands on anyone who gives you permission. Sickness is an intruder, not a teacher or a punishment. And you have the right to evict it in Jesus’ name. Now you might be thinking, “If I have authority, why am I still struggling with attacks and sickness?” Great question. Here’s the truth: authority must be exercised. James 4:7 says,  “Submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Many believers love the flee  part but forget about submission  and resistance . We must be submitted to the Word and will of God, and we must stand our ground. We cannot fight spiritual battles with natural weapons. We overcome Satan and sickness by speaking God’s Word, standing in faith, walking in holiness, and refusing to bow to fear. So how do we walk in mastery daily? 1.     Know the Word. Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”  Don’t wait for Sunday. Know the promises of God. Study and meditate in the Word daily. 2.     Speak the Word. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Speak healing, not defeat. Speak victory, not fear. 3.     Live in obedience. Authority flows through submission. The more aligned you are with God, the more His power flows through you. When you obey God’s Word, you are in submission. 4.     Pray with boldness. Don’t beg God. You’re not a beggar, you’re a son or daughter. Speak with faith. Pray with expectation. 5.     Stand your ground. Ephesians 6 says that after you’ve done everything you know to do, stand . That means don’t give up when it’s hard. That’s when your authority counts the most. You are not powerless . You are not a spiritual punching bag. You are a child of God, seated with Christ, filled with His Spirit, walking in divine authority. Today, I challenge you to stop accepting what Jesus already defeated. Don’t tolerate what you’re meant to trample. Rise up in faith. Speak to that mountain. Rebuke that sickness. Stand against the devil. And walk like the master you were created to be in Christ. I have a simple but powerful question for you: Who do you say you are? It doesn’t matter what others say. It doesn’t matter what your symptoms say. It doesn’t matter what your past says. What matters is: Who do you  say you are? In today’s blog, I’m going to show you how what you’ve been believing  and saying is having a direct impact on your life—and especially your health. A spiritual law that many believers don’t fully understand is this: Your confessions rule you. Your life right now—your health, your circumstances, your peace—are the sum total of what you have believed and spoken. Proverbs 6:2 says, “You are snared by the words of your mouth; you are taken by the words of your mouth.”  Think about that! Your words can trap you or they can deliver you. Jesus said the same thing in Mark 11:23: Whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done—he will have whatever he says. Jesus didn’t say you’ll have what you believe. He said you’ll have what you say, when you believe it in your heart. Romans 10:10 confirms this again: For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. The word “salvation” is soteria  in the Greek, and it includes deliverance, healing, and wholeness. If we want to receive anything from God, whether it’s healing, peace, or restoration, we must believe it in our heart and speak it with our mouth. That’s the spiritual law at work. It’s how faith operates. Hebrews 4:14 says: Let us hold fast our confession. What is the confession we’re to hold fast to? The confession of our faith in Jesus. The confession of our faith in what His Word says about us. But here’s the problem. Many Christians never dare to say what God says about them. Instead, they’re saying: “I’m so sick.” “I can’t take much more.” “The devil’s been busy.” “Nothing ever works out for me.” And guess what? As long as that’s their confession, that will be their reality. Jesus said you’ll have what you say.  When people constantly talk about how broke they are, how sick they feel, how depressed they are, they’re actually declaring that God’s Word doesn’t work. They may not realize that they’re opposing God’s Word. In effect they’re saying, “God, I know what Your Word says, but I don’t believe it.” When they do that, they’re not walking in agreement with God. Instead, they’re siding with the enemy. When you speak death, when you speak disease, when you speak defeat, you’re echoing the voice of the devil. And Satan loves it when you do that. Why does he? Because he knows your words have power. Do you want to grow stronger in faith? Then talk about what the Lord has done for you. Confess what the Word says. The more you talk about healing, the more real it becomes. The more you talk about victory, the more confident you become. The more you talk about who you are in Christ, the more you walk in that identity. Our perfect example was Jesus. All throughout His ministry, Jesus constantly spoke His identity: Who He was What He had Why He came He declared things like this: “I am the Light of the world.” “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me.” Now someone might say, “Well, that was Jesus. I’m just human.” Yet do you not realize that Jesus was human with God in Him? Likewise, if you are born again, then you are human with God in you. You have the same Spirit and the same inheritance as Jesus has. You must begin confessing who you are in Him just like Jesus did. You are a joint heir! Romans 8:16–17 says, The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. This means that everything Jesus has you now have. Jesus has health—you have health. Jesus has peace—you have peace. Jesus has authority—you have authority. Jesus has victory—you have victory. If you’re not experiencing these things, it’s not because God hasn’t given them. It’s because you’re not seeing yourself in Christ. Too many believers still talk like they’re just natural people. However, once you come to Christ, your spirit is made brand new. The rest of your journey is discovering who you now are , what you now have, and what you can now do in Christ. You must start saying what the Bible says about you. ·       “I am healed.” ·       “I am a child of God.” ·       “I have peace.” ·       “I walk in victory.” ·       “I am more than a conqueror.” ·       “Greater is He that is in me!” When your heart believes it and your mouth speaks it, you will have it. That’s not positive thinking, that’s God’s Word! So, who do YOU say you are? Start saying what God says. Agree with Him. Hold fast to your confession. When struggling to receive healing or anything else from God, the best thing to do is go back to the basics. When a professional sports team is performing poorly, the coach doesn’t look for a new and complicated plan to improve their playing. A wise coach will always return to the basics. He will make the team review the fundamental dynamics of their sport to get them back on track.   Today, we’ll review the essential steps to receiving whatever you need from God. I believe you will find some answers.   Hebrews 11:6 tells us, But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.   All that God has provided is received by faith. God wants you healed, blessed, and peaceful. He is very pleased when you receive His blessings. Since faith is so important, we are going to look at the ABC’s of Faith!   1.     Agree with the Word of God. No one can receive from God while disagreeing with what He says. When we talk against the Word or take actions against the Word, we are showing disagreement with God’s thoughts.   Job 22:21 from the Amplified Classic says, Now yield and submit yourself to Him [agree with God and be conformed to His will] and be at peace; In this way [you will prosper and great] good will come to you.   When we agree with God, when we conform to His will, then great good will come to us. God’s will is that all be saved, all be healed, and all be provided for. But many do not enjoy these blessings because they refuse to agree with God.   Numbers 23:19 says, God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?   God cannot lie, therefore we would be wise to agree with truth. Stop agreeing with your symptoms or circumstances! Instead, agree that you are healed. Agree that you are blessed. That is what God said, so that is the truth.   2.     Believe the Word of God.   Once we agree with the Word of God, we must also believe it. This means we begin to act like we believe. Here are three ways to act like we believe the Word: ● Praise: Start praising God just like you would if you had already received the answer. Don’t wait until the answer shows up. Our praise should be continual. Hebrews 13:13 says,   Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.   ● Plan: You can show God that you believe by the plans you make. Many confess that they are healed, but then make plans to die. If you listen to the devil, he will give you plans to fail. Plan to live and not die. Plan to succeed. Plan to walk. Planning is acting like God, for He is a planner.   Jeremiah 29:11 NIV says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”   ● Participate: You must participate in what you ordinarily cannot do. If it is financial, participate in the offering. If it is a physical need, start by doing something that you couldn’t do before. If you haven’t been able to get out of the house, start making plans to go somewhere—especially to church.   James 2:17 from the Amplified Classic says, So too, faith, if it does not have works [to back it up], is by itself dead [inoperative and ineffective].   3. Confess the Word of God.   Mark 11:23 says, “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”   Jesus is telling us that faith can move mountains. But faith won’t move anything until it first moves your mouth! Faith always has a confession. Without confession, the formula for faith is incomplete.   Nobody can be saved or healed apart from confession.   …that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10)   In the Greek, the word “salvation” means to deliver, health, and salvation. Did you know that God desires for you not just to live a long life, but to be satisfied in that life? A life filled with peace, purpose, and strength—right up until your last breath. Psalm 91:16 says, With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation. Let’s take a closer look at that. The word “ satisfy ” in the original Hebrew means to have plenty of , to be full , to be satiated . And the word “ salvation ” means more than just being saved from sin. It means deliverance, aid, victory, health, and prosperity. So what is God saying here? He’s promising, “I will fill your life with aid, victory, healing, prosperity—and you’ll live long enough  to enjoy it all!” Isn’t that powerful? Now let’s connect that to another promise in Psalm 103:5. Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. God doesn’t just want to keep you alive, He wants to renew your strength. Just like the eagle soars higher with age, you, too, can be strong and full of energy—even in your later years. Now, as with many promises in Scripture, there’s a condition. Ps 91:1 says, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. There is the condition— dwelling in the secret place. This isn’t about visiting God once a week on Sunday. This is living  in His presence, which is spending time in the Word, in prayer, worship, and listening to His voice. In His presence, you find direction ,  protection , and provision. Jesus echoes this same truth in John 15:4-6 . “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” Abiding in Jesus is the key to bearing fruit— answered prayer , healing , and yes— long life . But how do we actually abide ? Let me give you two simple ways: 1️. Abide in the Word. Jesus is the Word made flesh. The more you get the Word in your heart, the more connected you are to Him. Meditate on Scripture. Let it shape how you think, speak, and live. 2️. Abide in God’s plan for your life. God has a plan  for your life. Not a vague, one-size-fits-all plan, but a personal, detailed assignment. It’s in the presence of God that you discover this plan. You find direction through His Word, through prayer, and through the teaching of your pastor. The Lord once told my pastor, “Tell my people that long life is connected to My plan for their life.” That is a revelation we all need to hold onto. You see, your protection and provision are found in the plan of God. And if you're not pursuing that plan, if you're drifting, distracted, or disobedient, you might be opening the door to the enemy. That’s why we must take God’s calling seriously. Psalm 139:13-18 NLT says this: You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can't even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!   Not only does God have a plan for your life, He has a plan for every day of your life according to this passage. There are pages of your life written in Heaven. Are you walking them out? You’re not an accident. You’re not here to just get by or figure it out as you go. God is an intelligent being—He can get His plan to you if you’re willing to seek Him. Paul tells us that God has a specific calling for every one of His children. I therefore, the prisoner for the Lord, appeal to and beg you to walk (lead a life) worthy of the [divine] calling to which you have been called [with behavior that is a credit to the summons to God's service]. (Ephesians 4:1 AMPC)   There is a divine call on your life that only you can fulfill. Now let’s talk practically. What does God’s plan include for every  believer? We’re all called to the ministry of reconciliation—to share Jesus with others. We’re all called to pray. We’re all called to give and serve in our local church. And our plan is connected to the vision of our pastor—we don’t walk this out alone. But what about the specifics? Like where to live, what job to take, whom to marry, when to go, when to stay? Those answers come in the secret place, in your daily time with God. And usually, they’re confirmed by the leaders He’s placed in your life. God never leads by confusion. He’s orderly. And if you’ll stay close to Him, He’ll keep you on the right track. Once you discover God’s plan, you’ve got to stay focused. Hebrews 12:1-2  says: “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us, and run with endurance the race set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.” You’re in a race. And the only way to finish strong is to keep your eyes on Jesus—the Word—and stay on your course. Did you know you have cheerleaders in Heaven? That “great cloud of witnesses” is made up of those who’ve gone before us in faith, cheering us on as we run our race. So, let us: Lay aside every distraction. Put away sin. Don’t quit. And keep your focus on Jesus. Because when you do, you’ll live a life that’s full, fruitful, long, and satisfied. As we close, I want you to remember this: You’re not too young. You’re not too old. You’re not too broken. You’re not too late. God has a plan, and He wants you to walk in it—strong, healed, joyful, and full of purpose We pray that this blog post was a blessing to you! We began a series on why some believers are suffering from lingering symptoms of disease in their bodies. We have seen that believers are redeemed from the curse of sickness. Why, then, are so many dealing with disease and pain?   Today we want to talk about another potential cause: a lack of consecration . Kenneth E. Hagin, who ministered with integrity and wisdom for nearly 70 years, observed that there is much more sickness in the church today than there was many decades ago. He believed it was due to a lack of consecration.   Consecration is defined as separation for a sacred purpose or from a common or profane use. Many in the church are suffering from sickness because they have a lifestyle of sin, or of profane use.   Preaching against sin has never been popular, and it’s even more unpopular today. I believe there are two main reasons for a lack of preaching against sin.   One reason  is due to a pendulum swing. For many centuries, the Church placed a heavy emphasis on sin. You could say that the Church was in a ditch on one side of the road; there was no light or teaching on the righteousness of the believer. Then the pendulum started to swing towards teaching on righteousness. It is very important to understand that once we are born again, we become the righteousness of God in Christ. Understanding this helps us to live free from sin.   However, the pendulum has swung to such an unsound extreme about righteousness that some ministers claim Christians don’t even have to repent of sin anymore. This is the ditch on the other side of the road. If we never preach against sin, it will gain access in the believer’s life. This is why virtually every book of the New Testament addresses the sin issue.   The second reason  that sin is not preached as much is because the generation in which we currently live is more wicked than the generations of the past 200 years. The spirit of the world will always try to get into the Church. Being surrounded by wickedness, many in the Church have been swayed to conform to some of the world’s ways and think that God approves of these ways. However, He does not adjust His standard of holiness to accommodate the sinful desires of mankind. God never changes! Why does He not approve of sin? Because sin is an open door to the devil, and it destroys people.   1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says, Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.   We have been set apart by God for His use, not for what we want, and certainly not for what the world wants.   The fact that sin can bring sickness is a truth that is taught throughout the scriptures. Let’s look at three places.   ● Paul taught us to examine ourselves in 1 Corinthians 11. Why would we examine ourselves if change wasn’t necessary?   ● James suggested that sin may be involved with sickness.  And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. (James 5:15-16 NKJV)   ● Jesus made clear that sin can open a door to sickness. Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. (John 5:8-9 NKJV) Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more , lest a worse thing come upon you.”  (John 5:14 NKJV)   When the poison of sin is allowed to remain in a person’s life, healing is hindered—yet many still expect it and wonder why it does not come. If there is to be a cure, the poison must be removed.   We are not suggesting that all sickness is the result of sin. However, according to scripture, sin is one reason for sickness in a believer’s life. If this is the case, the way to receive healing is to repent of the sin and stop sinning! Consecrate your life afresh to the Lord.   God is merciful and forgiving. His mercy endures forever. He will forgive and forget.   Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases.    (Psalm 103:2-3 NKJV) Consecration is not about condemnation—it’s about alignment with God so nothing hinders what He has already provided. If you are dealing with lingering symptoms, take time to examine your heart. If the Lord reveals anything, respond quickly—repent, receive His forgiveness, and walk in obedience. When the obstacle is removed, the flow is restored. God has already provided both forgiveness and healing. If you are someone who has endeavored to use your faith for healing, but are tempted to be frustrated by delayed results, this message is for you. We began a series addressing the various reasons why some believers may be struggling with lingering disease in their bodies. I encourage you to go back and read previous blogs to get the full benefit.   Ephesians 4:27 says, Neither give place to the devil.   The devil can no longer take a place in you when you are born again. However, you can open a door and give him a place through different avenues. If we seek the Lord and find out where a door is open, we can then shut the door just as easily and receive our healing.   Some of the avenues we talked about in past blogs were: 1) Refusing to walk in love & having a loss of peace 2) A lack of gratitude 3) Not properly discerning the Lord’s body .   If any of these are present in our lives, we need to make changes if we want to receive complete healing. Some have actually commented that we don’t have to make any changes, because that would mean healing is works-based rather than by grace. However, to regard correction as unnecessary for receiving healing would mean we would need to dismiss the following teaching from the apostle Paul.   But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this reason, many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep. (1 Corinthians 11:28-30)   Paul emphatically stated that there is a reason why many are weak, sick, and die prematurely. If I was suffering from lingering symptoms of disease, I would want to examine myself and see if there was an open door so I could close it.   We are each responsible for how we conduct our lives. If we deny that change is ever needed, we fall into the trap of the saying, “whatever will be will be”. But thank God, we are not victims of chance or circumstance. He has given us His mind and His ability to make any necessary changes for receiving all He has for us, including healing.   This leads us to another area that believers might open the door to the devil.   By refusing to listen!   God is so good to us that He will navigate us out of sickness and into health, if we are willing to listen. Those who enter every conversation or situation with an attitude that they know everything will not fare well in life. This is called pride! This is being stubborn!   People can give place to the devil by not listening to God, to their pastor, to their spouse, or to godly counsel.   Matthew 5:5 says, Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.   The Cambridge English Dictionary defines meek as, “ quiet, gentle, and not willing to argue or express your opinions in a forceful way.”   To be meek is to be teachable. Even Jesus described Himself as meek. When we receive instructions from the Lord, even if through another person, we would do well to heed or listen instead of argue.   We have an entire Bible full of stories where the people refused to listen to the instructions or warnings from the Lord. In each account, the refusal grieved the Lord. Why? Because in each instance refusing to listen meant forgoing God’s answer or provision. He wants us to live with the blessing, not the curse.   As I read through several hundred accounts where people did not listen to God and His spokesmen, I noted that it always said “they refused” to listen. Refusal is a decision. You can decide to listen and do—or to refuse and suffer the results.   Look at what Jeremiah 7:23-26 says: But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you .’ Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but followed the counsels and the dictates of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward.  Since the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt until this day, I have even sent to you all My servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them. Yet they did not obey Me or incline their ear, but stiffened their neck.   God wants us to listen so that all will go well with us. And He often uses other people to get a message across to us.   I know of a preacher who was getting ready to eat some raw oysters he ordered at a restaurant. His wife could see that they didn’t look and smell right, so she said, “I wouldn’t eat those if I were you.” He decided to disregard what she said and ate them anyway.  As a result, he ended up very sick with food poisoning. It’s one thing to ingest something poisonous by accident, and another thing to eat something intentionally that you know is spoiled. He said he repented for not listening to his wife, and he was then healed of the poisoning.   Some have refused to listen to their pastor. This includes not only messages from the pulpit, but private comments or suggestions made.   A member of our church once told us he was suffering from very bad rashes on his back. He tended to perspire a lot. My husband, his pastor, suggested he buy all cotton shirts. He disregarded the advice for a long time, thinking it really didn’t matter. Eventually, he decided to start wearing all cotton shirts, and within a short time, the rash was gone.   His wife said to him, “You should have listened to Pastor!”   Pastors are certainly not called to run our lives. But the Lord can use them, or anyone He chooses, to speak things that are answers for us. Our job is to perceive by the unction of the Holy Spirit in us that it is our answer when we hear it.   Matthew 11:15 from the Amplified Classic Translation says, He who has ears to hear, let him be listening and let him consider and perceive and comprehend by hearing.   In Acts 27, the apostle Paul warned the captain of the ship not to set sail because of the harm that was coming. He refused to listen. Although God spared all who were on the ship for Paul’s sake, they lost a great deal of wealth.   Psalm 1:1 from the Amplified Classic Translation says, BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather.   This tells us that who we listen to is important. Yes, we must always ultimately follow what the Spirit of God says to our own spirit. But the Holy Spirit will many times confirm what He’s trying to get across to us through godly people. When somebody knows God and their life bears the fruit of walking with God, we benefit by listening to them.   (This series was inspired by Nancy Dufresne .) So many have written and told us they have become frustrated because they believe they are using their faith, yet still they have symptoms of disease and pain in their bodies. Therefore, I began a series of blogs addressing the various reasons why a believer may be struggling with sickness.   I began last time by reading from Galatians to lay a small foundation:   Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Galatians 3:13-14 NKJV)   We saw that the curse of the law is threefold: spiritual death, sickness , and poverty or lack. As believers in Jesus Christ, we are redeemed from sickness and disease. So we began answering the question of why so many believers still have sickness and disease if we are redeemed from it?   Ephesians 4:27 tells us,  “Neither give place to the devil.”   When you are born again, the devil can no longer just take a place in you whenever he wants.  However, even as a born again believer, you can open a door that gives him a place to work. The good news is that if we seek the Lord and find out where a door is open, we can then shut the door just as easily and receive our healing.   Some of the avenues we talked about in past episodes were refusing to walk in love, a loss of peace, and a lack of gratitude. I would encourage you to go back and read the previous blogs in order to get the full benefit of this series.   Today, I want to return to a scripture that sheds further light on reasons why some may be having difficulty receiving healing.   But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep. (1 Corinthians 11:28-31 NKJV)   Not discerning the Lord’s body is the reason Paul lists as to why MANY are weak, sick, and die prematurely. There are other causes implied throughout the Bible, but this is specifically stated. That ought to get our attention!!   There is a two-fold application here: 1.     Discerning the Lord’s physical body  – We must discern and understand that the cause for sin, sickness, and disease was laid on Jesus, and by His stripes we were healed. 2.     Discerning the Lord’s spiritual body – This is what I want to focus on today.   The Lord’s spiritual body is the Church! Since Christians are part of Jesus’ body, discerning the Lord’s body means we must discern how our actions will affect others in the body of Christ. According to this passage, when Christians do not discern how their actions affect others in the body, they can become weak, sick, and even die prematurely.   Ephesians 4:16 says, [From whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.   There is a supply for every part of the body to bring. When we bring our supply, the body is increased. However, if we don’t bring our supply, the body is decreased.   In searching for answers as to why we may not have received our healing, we must ask if we are helping the body to increase or causing it to decrease. Contrary to what many think, no man is an island. What we do always affects others.   This is a big deal to God! By not properly bringing our supply to the body, we can open the door wide to the devil to attack us with sickness and disease.         There are 5 ways to bring your supply to the body of Christ: 1.     Find the pastor God has for you and get planted there. God assigns every believer to a local church, but more importantly, to a specific pastor that He knows will help them fulfill their assignment in life.   There are always exceptions to this. Some people cannot get out and about for various reasons, or there may not be a good church nearby. These exceptions have an answer. By listening to teaching from ministries like ours, you can develop your faith to eventually get out, and you can pray a good church into your area.   Even Jesus faithfully attended synagogue and helped in His local congregation. The people there knew who He was.   So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.  (Luke 4:16 NKJV)   If we want to be like Jesus, we must be faithful to help a local body fulfill the plan God gave it for the earth.   2.     Give your tithes and offerings to your church. God’s work in the earth needs to be funded, and God is the One who ordained that it be funded through tithes and offerings. When we withhold our tithes and offerings, we diminish the ability of the church to reach the world as it should. Although the message is free, the pipeline to get it to people costs money.   Part of discerning the Lord’s body is discerning our part in bringing our financial supply. I heard a story of a woman who came up in a healing line to be ministered to. The Holy Spirit revealed to the preacher that she was not a tither. He told her if she would begin tithing, she would receive her healing—and she did! Why? Because she began to discern properly.   3.     Pray for your pastor and local church. Prayer moves the plan of God for His church forward. If we don’t pray as we ought, people in the local church may not receive all they can. And people outside of the church will not receive like they should. This is also discerning that our actions affect others.   4.     Get involved in helping your local church. The local church is a family. In a family, all members should have chores or responsibilities. It is courteous and kind to help with the load of the ministry.   Many believers are sick because they come, sit, and listen, but never lift a hand to help. This puts undo strain on the other members, therefore it is not discerning the Lord’s body.   5.     Walk in love with the body. There is one more important point that must be made. It is dangerous to do anything that will harm or divide the local body. Any words that cause strife, division, or offense will open the door to the devil. It is dangerous to speak ill of the pastor in a way that would cause the sheep to lose confidence in their pastor. It is also harmful to speak ill of other members of the church.   So we see that walking in love is essential to receiving healing and to stay healed!   (We want to give credit for this series to Nancy Dufresne .) Many have written us with concerns about lingering symptoms of sickness even after praying. So, we began a series of blogs last week addressing some of the possible causes for this. We saw that Christians have sickness for different reasons than unbelievers, because Christians are redeemed from the curse of the law.   Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.  (Galatians 3:13-14 NKJV)   We saw that the curse of the law was three-fold. Our goal is to give some insight into various areas that are often overlooked on our journey of faith. If we seek the Lord and find out where a door is open, we can then shut the door just as easily and receive our healing.   Two ways we discussed in last week’s blog were refusing to walk in love and losing our peace. I would encourage you to go back and read it if you haven’t yet had a chance. Today, we are going to discuss a third possibility for why symptoms may be lingering in the life of a believer.   3. A lack of gratitude.   Few Christians realize how important it is to have an attitude of gratitude and thanksgiving in life. Those who are not thankful and always complain will not likely walk in health and healing. Most of the people I have known who are always full of disease are also always full of complaining.   Faith has its greatest expression through thankfulness and gratitude toward God for all He has provided. We should also be thankful toward other people. When we fail to be joyful and thankful, we open the door to the enemy.   God warned us in Deuteronomy 28:47-48, “Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, therefore you shall serve your enemies.”   Sickness is an enemy!   We see a perfect illustration of how the door was opened to the devil by complaining in the Old Testament. The people repeatedly complained against the Lord and against Moses, and it did not end well for them.   And the people spoke against God and against Moses: “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread.” So the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many of the people of Israel died.  (Numbers 21:5-6)   Serpents always represent Satan. You can open a door to the devil by murmuring, complaining, and griping against God, or even against your pastor. (Moses was really like their pastor.) To complain will cause you to remain in a bad place. Why is complaining an open door? Because complaining is the voice of unbelief! If we were really in faith about something, we would not be complaining about it.   Let’s look at a   story about Paul and Silas as an example of the proper response to adverse circumstances. And when they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, commanding the jailer to keep them securely. Having received such a charge, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks. But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.  (Acts 16:23-27)   Naturally speaking, Paul and Silas had every reason to gripe and complain. They landed in a prison for obeying God. But they had the spirit of faith! How do we know this? Praise is the sound of faith! They understood the power of praise, and they also knew the outcome of complaining. They knew the Old Testament stories, and Paul is the one who said they were written for our examples.   Paul said in 1 Corinthians 10:10-11, nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer. Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.   Paul and Silas praised their way out of bondage and into freedom. You, too, can praise your way out of sickness and into health!   Hebrew 13:15 tells us, Therefore, by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.   Praise must be in our mouths continually. Continual praise holds us in continual victory. We are to continually express faith, and not just have moments of faith.   Many are sick today because they are behind in their praise and gratitude. If that describes you, you can change it instantly! Make the decision to give up complaining. Become a praiser. As you praise and worship God continually, you will find that your symptoms will disappear. We pray that this blog post was a blessing to you! This will not be exhaustive but will give some insight into areas that are often overlooked on our journey of faith.   I want to begin with a few foundational scriptures that will lay the groundwork for these teachings.   Galatians 3:13-14 says, Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.   It’s good to know we are redeemed from the curse of the law. However, we must understand what the curse of the law is. Deuteronomy 28:5-68 lists all the curses that would come upon those who failed to obey God’s law. God’s will has always been that His people live under the blessing. That is why He warned His people in Deuteronomy chapter twenty-eight to obey Him.   The curse of the law can be divided into three categories: spiritual death (separation from God), sickness, and poverty. Thank God, Christ has redeemed us from all three! Those who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior never again have to be separated from God and all that separation represents. They never again have to be separated from health, and never again be separated from provision. On the other hand, unbelievers have no protection from the curse because they are under the lordship of Satan and in rebellion to God’s Word.   Now, if Christians are redeemed from the curse of sickness and disease, why are so many experiencing it in their lives? For a completely different reason than unbelievers! Ephesians 4:27 says, “ Neither give place to the devil.”   The devil can no longer take a place in you when you are born again. However, you can open a door and give him a place through different avenues. Sometimes we are fully aware of where we gave place to him, but many times we are not aware. Unfortunately, what we don’t know can actually cause all kinds of problems for us.   Hosea 4:6 says, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. In order to get the door closed to the devil, we need information.   We need the wisdom of God. Let me clarify that just because you’re facing a trial does not always mean that you are failing or that you have opened a door to the devil. Even when we are in the will of God, the devil will often attack us because he seeks to hinder our progress.   In either case, we can receive wisdom and direction through seeking the Lord. And my prayer today is that you will find answers in this and upcoming blogs. Let’s look at one more foundational scripture.   1 Corinthians 11:30 says, For this reason, many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.   According to this verse, there is a reason why Christians become weak, sick, or die prematurely. Our responsibility as believers is to seek the Lord and find that reason, and then deal with it so we can receive our healing.  Accordingly, we are going to look at two reasons why some get sick and do not receive healing.   1.     Refusing to walk in love. Immediately after teaching one of the greatest messages on faith, Jesus also taught us to forgive. There is a major correlation between forgiving and receiving.   Mark 11:24-26 says, “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”   Here is my interpretation of this: Forgive everyone  of anything , every time ! If you allow the least bit of bitterness toward someone in your life, it will hinder your ability to receive healing. Sometimes people have thought if they cut someone off from their life and held their mistakes against them that it will get them back for what they did.  However, all it really does is hurt the one who refuses to forgive! It’s like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die from it.   If you really want to receive healing, this is the first area I would recommend examining. If you have difficulty walking in love, I would suggest you meditate upon 1 Corinthians 13. It gives us the definition of the God kind of love and how it behaves. You will notice that none of the description includes “feelings.” It is all about action. The power to walk in love actually comes from getting those scriptures into your heart in abundance.   2.     Losing your peace.   Worry and fear will cause you to lose your peace faster than anything! Fear is the opposite of faith. So when you are worried or fearful, you are not in faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God, and it is impossible to receive healing. That is because everything we receive from God comes by faith.   There is a penalty for worrying. It keeps the mind in the natural arena instead of focusing on the spiritual arena where healing is found. In my book Untroubled I address this very subject in detail. It might be a great help for you to read it if you struggle in this area.   According to the National Institute of Mental Health, over 60 million adults in the U.S. have some form of mental illness. The majority of it is in the form of anxiety and depression. Medical science teaches us that 80% of all illnesses stem from a poor mental health condition.   If you are worried about your body, your symptoms, and your outcome, you are not in a position to receive your healing. The way to turn that around is to spend your days meditating upon healing scriptures and worshipping God. Fill your heart and mind with the truth of God’s Word. He will not fail to perform His Word for you if you will stop worrying and start trusting Him.   Jesus told the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:34, “Daughter, your faith (your trust and confidence in Me, springing from faith in God) has restored you to health. Go in (into) peace and be continually healed and freed from your [distressing bodily] disease.”   Once we receive our healing, we keep it by maintaining our peace. We maintain our peace by keeping our thoughts on the Word.   You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.  (Isaiah 26:3 NKJV)   These are just two areas that can be examined if you are struggling with symptoms. In upcoming blogs, we will look at some other potential areas that could be hindering healing power from flowing in your body.
